The Venue

Kelvin Hall

Seminar Room 2

ScotELAs will take place in the newly refurbished, multi-million pound Kelvin Hall, just on the opposite side of Kelvingrove Park from the University of Glasgow. You may know the building from its previous incarnation as the Transport Museum right opposite Kelvingrove Art Gallery & Museum. The University of Glasgow's museum, the Hunterian Museum (Scotland's oldest public museum), now hold their main collection in the Kelvin Hall. While most of the collection is held in archives, you can still browse some of the choice artifacts on display in the corridors and in an exhibition space next to the seminar rooms.

If you are arriving into Glasgow city centre, take the Subway to Kelvinhall Station and turn left as you exit onto Dumbarton Road. Our venue is a few minutes' walk from Kelvinhall Station, on the opposite side of the road.

Full details on the Kelvin Hall, including details of the renovation, can be found here: http://kelvinhall.org.uk/university-of-glasgow/
